It is no surprise that Doug Kemmerer founded Road Less Traveled Publishing. At a young age Doug followed his entrepreneurial spirit along with a strong work ethic that was inbred in him by his father. His career started in the service industry where he learned the importance of serving others. By the time Doug was in his early twenties Doug started a business in the hospitality and entertainment industry. This allowed Doug to thrive in an industry that not only worked closely with many household names, but also started Doug thinking about the great experiences and stories that motivated him to start writing his own life story. This experience was the catalyst of a realization that helping others tell their stories is much more rewarding than simply sharing his own story.

While contemplating sharing and publishing the experiences of others and his own life, it was almost an unbelievable coincidence but, a gentleman came into Doug's life, and unknown to both of them, he had crossed paths with Doug's father. His father had recently passed away, and it fascinated him and he wanted to learn not just about how their paths had crossed but also to understand the essence of his father's heart.

These experiences prompted the birth of Road Less Traveled Publishing. The goal is to share fascinating nonfictional stories and out of the box experiences of those who deserve to have their stories shared.

THE JOURNEY THAT BUILT ME

SELF-DRIVEN TO SPIRIT-LED

AVAILABLE ON AMAZON AND BOOKS.BY/ROAD-LESS-TRAVELED

FOGELSVILLE, PA – Road Less Traveled Publishing is pleased to announce the release of Doug Kemmerer’s third book, THE JOURNEY THAT BUILT ME.

Unlike Kemmerer’s first two books which featured the journeys of adventurer, Fritz Sprandel, in this book he turns the lens inward and tells the story of his personal walk in faith. A walk which culminated last year when he was baptized at the age of almost 65.

Kemmerer is a businessman and entrepreneur, and he tells us upfront that he isn’t a theologian or a preacher, and he would never dream of debating scripture with those who have spent their lives studying it.  Rather, his story is him bearing witness to a life lived on the outskirts of a relationship with God. It was only when he started writing the stories of Fritz Sprandel and how God played a big part in Fritz’s adventures, did Doug realize how blessed and favored he himself had been.  God had been looking over him the whole time and now Doug says, it’s time to return the favor.

In THE JOURNEY THAT BUILT ME, Doug tells the story of his journey that started as a baby who was pronounced dead but was miraculously revived by his grandmother’s prayers. His journey continued when he took a physical to play football in junior high and a serious infection was discovered in his leg that almost cost him his leg but was saved by the intervention of world class doctors. “This wasn’t,” Doug would say later, “An accident. I know now that God had a hand in all of this.”

Doug recounts his professional and personal lives and is amazed that things that seemed like coincidences was really God working in his life. This newfound realization humbled and emboldened him to tell his story to inspire others.

THE JOURNEY THAT BUILT ME is a warm, candid look at a life that was saved for a purpose, and the purpose is to tell his story.

Doug is a professional and entertaining speaker and is available for speaking engagements, live interviews and email interviews.  Please contact him for availability.

Our Books

Snowmobiling Across America

Snowmobiling Across America -  In 1977, adventurer Fritz Sprandel and his mechanic, Ed Kasmerski, set out to snowmobile coast-to-coast-despite never having ridden one before. With minimal planning, a brand-new Scorpion snowmobile, and sheer determination, they defied the odds, overcame countless obstacles, and made history.

Finding Fritz

Finding Fritz: The Heart of an Adventurer is the rest of Fritz's story. It chronicles Fritz's adventures from his point of view as well as venturing into the compelling mental territory of WHY an adventurer risks everything-family, a life of "normal"-for the bragging rights of one more bridge, one more mile, one more river.  It's due out this year.

Adventure on a Dare, which tells the tale of his Cuban adventure, was published in 2011. But it just whetted people's appetites. They wanted to know the rest of the story.

In The Moment - This is a book of short stories inspired by photos the author has taken over time that have touched her heart.

I Am Unger - The Very Odd Monkey - A Children's Book to entertain children and at the same time, teach them that we may be different but, we are all special.
